A Look Back at GHS Boys Basketball

Grossmont’s first year, 1920-1921, the Boys Basketball team had 5 players. Coached by volunteer J.H. Becker, the team played 6 games, winning only 2. In the early years of basketball, game scores tended to be lower; in the first year, the score against Army and Navy was Grossmont 17, Army and Navy 18. Other first year opponents included Escondido, Coronado, Ramona, Fallbrook, and National City. Early basketball courts were outside dirt courts, often laid out by the playing teams.

Girls Basketball 2014 - 2015

More about Coach Grace Campbell
Grace was Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Chaffey College for two years, Varsity Basketbll Coach at Alta Loma High School and JV Coach at Grossmont High. Between seasons she has coached youth basketball leagues and youth travel teams.
