Jeffrey Michael Watters

Jeff passed away on July 16, 2010 at his home in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was born in La Mesa on March 2, 1957 at Grossmont Hospital to Flo and Clarence Watters. He lived in San Diego County all of his life until he moved to Las Cruces four years ago. Throughout the years he enjoyed camping with his family, the beach, NASCAR and San Diego Padres games. One of his favorite trips was river-rafting in the Grand Canyon with a group of friends, including his dad and two brothers. Jeff started with his first part time job while still in high school. He graduated from Grossmont High School in 1975 and continued a working career in the business world. He was a caring and loving person who would always be there for his family if needed. We will all miss him. Jeff is survived by his sister, Karen Berry, brothers, Douglas Watters (and Kimberly), Gary Watters (and Leslie), his step-mother, Gerry Watters, and his step-sisters, Shirley Buss (and Leslie) and Donna Lafreniere (and Bill), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his step-brother, Wayne Buss in 2002. A private family memorial will be held, scattering Jeff's ashes at sea as he loved the ocean, and its rhythms will eternally caress him and give him peace.
